Hydrogen
Hydrogen is a colorless, odorless, tasteless and non-toxic gas and is the lightest gas. It is the most abundant element in the universe. It is the only fuel gas that does not contain carbon atoms. It burns with an invisible, clean (carbon and soot-free) flame lighter than air. It can have different purity concentration such as:
- Pure H2 ≥ 99.99% minimum
- High Purity H2 ≥ 99.999% minimum
- 5.5 H2 ≥ 99.9995% minimum
Scope of application:
- Food and Beverage: Hydrogenation of edible oils
- Chemical production: Production of ammonia and methanol, hydrogenation of inedible oils
- Cutting gas for plasma cutting and welding
- As fuel in spacecraft
- It is used for the hardening of polyamide yarns in the textile industry.
How does it produce?
With increasing technology, hydrogen production ways are becoming easier and cleaner. It can produce in 2 different ways. The first is the decomposition of natural gas. The second and cleaner way is to hydrolyze the water.
Supply Forms and Cylinders
- Unlike other gas cylinders, hydrogen cylinders are double heat treated during production, so hydrogen gas should not be filled into other cylinders.
- Seralgaz can supply hydrogen gas as cylinder and MTP in accordance with all safety rules.
How to Use, What Should Be Considered During Use?
The points to be considered in the application areas of compressed hydrogen gas in pressure vessels are as follows.
- Stainless pipes should be preferred in order to ensure purity and cleanliness in installation and piping processes.
- It should be reduced gradually from high pressure to low pressure instead of directly.
- Areas of use should be ex-proof and attention should be paid to cabling systems.
